6 Steps to Get Your Business Back in Alignment

In business, staying connected to our core values isn’t just a good practice—it’s the foundation of who we are and why we’re here. Authenticity helps us attract the right clients, builds trust, and turns our brand into a true reflection of our identity. But as we push for growth, it’s easy to drift from this core. The pressure to grow quickly or comparisons to others can cause us to lose touch with our unique voice, brand, and message.

Step 1: Identify Your Core Values

Your core values are the heartbeat of your business. Knowing what truly matters to you makes serving your ideal clients feel natural and genuine. These values shape everything—your branding, your messaging, your niche—and they help draw the right clients in through messaging that resonates. Think about what motivated you at the start and the feeling you want clients to experience when they work with you.

For example, my brand’s values: Authenticity, Empowerment, Fulfillment, Integrity—are the backbone of everything I offer and share.

Step 2: Evaluate Current Business Practices

Align your business model with those values.

Are you working with clients who share your values? Are you using marketing strategies that reflect your commitment to authenticity? Take time to list areas where you can infuse your values more deeply into your business.

Step 3: Set Goals Aligned with Your Values

When your goals align with your values, you stay true to yourself and create a more fulfilling business.

For example, one of my goals is to help 100 women entrepreneurs close the gap from where they are to where God is calling their business into six-figure growth over the next year. What value-aligned goals do you have?

Step 4: Implement Changes

If there’s an offer or process that doesn’t align with your values, let it go or make the necessary adjustments. This creates a more cohesive brand experience, which helps with client retention and ultimately grows your income.

If letting go feels tough, consider how you can tweak the service to better align with what matters to you.

Step 5: Communicate Changes to Your Team and Audience

Pivot openly and transparently.

Keep your audience and clients in the loop about any shifts. Use Instagram Stories, blog posts, emails, or live sessions to talk about what’s new. I love sharing updates and shifts within my private community, where I teach, connect, and support them as we grow together.

Step 6: Regularly Review and Adjust

Do quarterly audits of your brand, messaging, offers, and systems to make sure they’re still aligned with your vision and values. Adjust as you grow, ensuring that your brand continues to be a reflection of who you are.

Reconnecting with your core values is essential for building an authentic, fulfilling business. Use these steps to ensure your business remains a true representation of who you are and what you stand for.

And if you found this helpful, pass it on to someone who might benefit from realigning their business with their core values.
