The Pivot That Changes Everything
You’ve probably heard me say it before, but it’s worth repeating... as we grow, our business grows with us.
What once felt perfectly aligned might no longer fit as we evolve. My journey from a service professional to a coach and then shifting my focus from New Age practices to a faith-based approach is proof that real growth often calls for change.
Your reason for pivoting might be different, maybe your values have shifted, or you’re ready to take your business to a new level. Whatever the reason, know that pivoting is always within reach.
To pivot successfully, start by redefining your vision. Go back to the foundation: your Ideal Client Avatar (ICA), your offers, and your messaging. Make sure your marketing framework aligns with this new direction, because long-term success comes from staying true to your core values. (For more on this, check out "6 Steps to Get Your Business Back in Alignment.")
When pivoting, the key is to take action and trust yourself. Keeping your audience involved can help you maintain stability during this transition. Be prepared—some clients may not resonate with your new direction, and that’s normal. Focus on reaching those who do.
Tip:
Appearing as a guest expert in spaces aligned with your new focus is a great way to expand your reach and introduce your pivot.
Clear communication with existing clients and your team is essential. Bring them along on this journey with you. Here’s a quick email template you can adapt for announcing your pivot:
Hi [Client’s Name],

What’s New:
- I’m pivoting to [new focus/services].

More details are on the way, and I’m here for any questions you have! Your support means the world as we step into this new chapter together.
Thanks for being here with me!
Best,
[Your Name]
Using CRM tools to streamline your pivot and delegating tasks will help you keep things organized and prevent overwhelm during the transition.
Be bold and clear in your pivot, knowing you’re making changes for the right reasons. And remember—sometimes, it’s not a complete pivot that’s needed, just a tweak in your marketing, foundation, or strategy.
